Murphypalooza 2025 – Part of the Body Soul Family
Last weekend, I had the honor of celebrating Lisa and Tom’s wedding… again. For those who don’t know, Lisa (who I consider my partner in crime and the heartbeat of our company) and her wonderful new man, Tom, tied the knot at the RI Yacht Club a few months ago. But Murphypalooza 2025, the backyard reception at their home in Foxboro, was the real party.
Picture this: 250 guests, a tent buzzing with conversation, and more than a few familiar faces. What struck me most wasn’t the sheer size of the crowd, but how many of them were our training clients. I kept looking around and thinking, “wow, this is what it’s all about.” These aren’t just people who show up for a workout—they’ve become friends, family, part of the fabric of our lives.
And then, just when I thought the night couldn’t get any better, Lisa got on stage with her old band, The Big Deal. (Turns out she’s not only great at running a business, but she can also crush a setlist!) The energy was great, and the dance floor proved that squats and deadlifts really do translate into stamina.
Of course, no great party is complete without food… and Rogue Island delivered. Let’s just say I definitely went back for seconds. Maybe thirds. Don’t ask Josaphat how many of the lobster rolls I had… If performance nutrition included BBQ ribs and duck empanadas, I’d be setting PRs every week. And whoever came up with the color-changing cocktail cups… good idea! Everyone loved them
Walking away from the night, I couldn’t help but feel grateful. Our community isn’t built on reps and sets alone. It’s built on showing up for each other in and out of the gym—whether that’s during a tough training session or under a string of backyard lights celebrating life’s biggest milestones.
Here’s to being more than a name in a computer. Here’s to being family. See you soon in the studio! And if you see Lisa, tell her congrats!
